GOLD MEDAL FOR CUVÉE LA GARENNE

The Concours Général Agricole Paris is a benchmark in the winemaking world.
At the start of the year, it awarded a gold medal to the 2016 vintage of cuvée “La Garenne” in the White Burgundy category.
It is a source of great pride for Domaine Garde because the Concours Général Agricole Paris is renowned for its impartiality and the merit of its results, product of a rigorous regional short-listing process and a selection process in Paris.
The jury praised the cuvée as intense, well-balanced and rich with mineral notes both on the nose and on the palate. A fleshy wine that is generous on the palate with excellent length.
In conclusion: a wine with substance.

More information on the jury
Jury members are sommeliers, oenologists, producers, wine-grower union representatives or even informed consumers. The group of wines participating in the competition are drawn randomly by an agent from the Chamber of Agriculture. Analyses and control samples are preserved for one year in order to verify compliance. During the final, the tasting table is comprised of 6 judges, and on average 15 wines are tasted. Each judge rates the different wines based on pre-defined organoleptic criteria. Their opinions are combined to determine the final ranking for the medals for the best wines.
THEIR DECISION IS FULLY INDEPENDENT AND CANNOT BE DISPUTED BY THE ORGANISERS OR THE CANDIDATES.
